把别人说的话转述出来叫间接引语，直接引用叫直接引语，转换时注意人称、时态、时间状语的变化。

- 人称变化：第一人称随转述者，第二人称随被转述者：He said, "I like it." → He said he liked it.
- 时态变化（主句过去时）：一般现在时→一般过去时；现在进行时→过去进行时；一般过去时→过去完成时；一般将来时→过去将来时；现在完成时→过去完成时。
- 时间状语变化：now→then, today→that day, yesterday→the day before, tomorrow→the next day, ago→before, here→there。
- 陈述句变间接引语用 that 引导：She said, "I'm tired." → She said（that）she was tired.
- 一般疑问句用 if/whether 引导，语序变陈述：He asked, "Are you ready?" → He asked if I was ready.
- 特殊疑问句用原疑问词引导："Where do you live?" he asked. → He asked where I lived.
- 祈使句变间接引语：ask/tell/order sb. to do："Close the door," she said. → She told me to close the door.
- 直接引语是客观真理时，时态不变：He said, "The earth is round." → He said the earth is round.
- 疑问句转间接引语：疑问词 + 陈述语序，助动词 do/does/did 去掉。
