- that 引导宾语从句（无词义，可省略）：I think（that）he is right. 我认为他是对的。
- that 引导主语从句（不可省略）：That he will come is certain. 他会来是肯定的。
- if/whether 引导宾语从句（是否）：I don't know if/whether he will come. 我不知道他是否会来。
- whether 可与 or not 连用，if 不能：I don't know whether he will come or not.
- whether 可引导主语从句/表语从句，if 不能：Whether he will come doesn't matter. 他是否来不重要。
- 介词后只用 whether：It depends on whether it rains. 这取决于是否下雨。
